Core chain
The framework moves from the first certainty of experience toward totality: distinction, scale, physical unity, antidistinction, and infinite Sizerange.
Figure 1. The Sizerange core chain: from first certainty to totality.
What is Sizerange?
Sizerange is a framework for mapping reality from the first certainty of experience to the largest possible totality. It begins with the fact that experience exists, then follows how experience becomes thinkable through distinction: this is not that.
Every distinction appears at a scale. A body is one thing at human scale, many organs at biological scale, cells at cellular scale, molecules at molecular scale, and part of society, Earth, and cosmic history at larger scales. This open range of size, time, context, and perspective is what the project calls Sizerange.
The framework also uses physics as a clue that some distinctions are not final. Matter and energy, for example, are deeply connected through E=mc², and space and time are joined as spacetime. Sizerange calls this unified physical side energymasspacetime.
The opposite of distinction is Antidistinction: the total side of reality, where all distinctions are included and there is no outside contrast. In this view, reality is one-many: one as totality, many as distinction.
The framework in three movements
1. Distinction
To think, name, measure, or know anything, one thing must be distinguished from what it is not.
2. Sizerange
Every distinction appears at a scale: size, time, context, relation, and observer-frame.
3. Antidistinction
Reality as totality has no outside contrast. It contains all distinctions without being one object among others.
Figure 2. Structure, range, and totality: Distinction ↔ Sizerange ↔ Antidistinction.
Central claim
Reality is structured totality. Distinction gives the structure. Antidistinction gives the totality. Sizerange gives the open range between them.
